This page replaces the Member’s
Forum and represents your opportunity to express a view on almost any
subject currently taking your fancy.
Maybe the subject matter is
something inspiring you? Maybe
(and most probably) the opposite is the case but, either way, you will be
seeking to exchange points of view with former friends, colleagues and
serving officers.
this is how it
works
You can either start a discussion
(referred to as a thread) or add a comment to a discussion (referred to
as a reply). It’s that simple! A
list of suggested threads and can be found opposite. Once the views start coming in, you
will be able to click on the thread title to view the responses. If you wish to start a thread then send
in suggested title and opening comment.
the rules
There aren’t very many! You have to be a Narpo member or a serving
officer. You will email your thread or your reply to the Website Manager
and, provided the content is ‘suitable’, it will be published.
Only your name and Narpo no. (or
current or ex-warrant no.) will be shown with the thread or reply;
contributor email addresses will not be included.
The Website Manager retains the
right to edit content and to decide when a thread and replies have run
their course. He will apply a
common sense definition to ‘suitable’ and will only consult the Branch
Committee where he considers it necessary to do so.

Met are freezing police recruitment. Only members of the Special

The
forthcoming public service budget cuts will inevitably lead to a
reduction in the number of police officers employed in London.
Where should the axe fall?
Some
police forces now employ more civilian staff than they do police
officers. A problem, no problem at all or just an inevitable trend?
Given
the increasing number of civil staff employed by the Police Service, now
is the time to consider extending Narpo membership to retired police
civil staff. What do we think?
