The reunion took place on Wednesday 20th October 2010
at The Warren. The event went
extremely well with around 160 attendees. These included serving and
retired police officers and members of police staff, male and female.
People came from far and wide, one retired sergeant travelled down from
Dumfries, a retired Chief Superintendent from North Wales and a retired
PC from Cambridge.
Many old stories were told and we even had a table displaying
PPHA merchandise for sale and flyers promoting the charity. One story that springs to mind was
about Bill Bates, a retired officer who has just turned 100 years of age.
He called Dave Poole, the main organizer, the night before to apologise
for being absent but he didn't feel up to driving too far!!
